Banashankari tastes anti-encroachment drive
BBMP demolishing illegal constructions in Banashankari, in Bangalore on Monday
BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike's (BBMP) anti-encroachment drive continued on Monday with demolition of a two-storey building near the Balaji Kalyana Mantap in Banashankari.
The building was encroached 5X40 ft upon a rajakaluve (primary canal) and had been there from the last ten years.
Due to the encroachment, the area used to flood whenever there was downpour, said an official.
At Puttenahalli Lake
The BBMP on Monday demolished constructions that had come up on an acre, 21 guntas land encroaching the Puttenahalli lake. BBMP has started fencing the lake area for further development of the lake.
