Punjab allocates 402 crore to civic bodies

 

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has released Rs.402 crore to various municipal corporations and municipal committees in the State for widening of roads and erection of street lights and strengthening of the requisite infrastructure.

Disclosing this here on Monday, Local Government, Industry and Commerce Minister Manoranjan Kalia said the Government had allocated Rs.165 crore to the Municipal Corporation of Amritsar, Rs.101 crore to the Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar, Rs.40 crore to the Municipal Corporation of Ludhiana, Rs.45 crore to the Municipal Corporation of Patiala and Rs.40 crore to the Municipal Corporation of Bathinda for reconstruction, beautification and widening of roads.

Mr. Kalia said the Government had also released Rs.237 crore to various municipal committees for providing and strengthening of requisite infrastructure. - PTI
