Waste dumping: six held, tankers seized
The
city Corporation’s health wing has apprehended six persons for dumping
waste and seized two tankers for trying to dump septage.
The Corporation’s night squad caught them red-handed from Kazhakuttam, Chanthavila, and Kattayikonam wards in the Kazhakuttam zonal limits.
Tanker lorries belonging to Biju and Sreeraj were seized and legal action initiated against them.
Paul Pandian of Kazhakuttam; Sherif of New Opticals, Kazhakuttam; Sivagurunath of Kazhakuttam; Bhadran of Ambadi Textiles, Kazhakuttam; and Ananthu Krishnan of Kazhakuttam were fined as per the Municipal Act for dumping waste in public places.
Health inspector K.C. Asok and junior health inspector Saiju led the squad.
